Aurora is Colorado’s third-largest city, and it grew fast. That growth left the city with two very different kinds of sewer lines: older lines that are wearing out, and newer ones still settling into the ground. Go Direct Services provides sewer line repair in Aurora, plus sewer line replacement and water line repair, for both. We are family-owned, based in nearby Commerce City, and we put a camera in your line before we recommend anything.

Sewer line repair in Aurora: what we see most

When we pull up to a house in Aurora, the first thing we want to know is roughly when it was built. That tells us what the pipe is probably made of and how it tends to fail.

Older homes

Homes built before the 1970s often have clay or cast iron sewer lines. Clay fails at the joints, where roots get in and spread. Cast iron corrodes from the inside, so the pipe scales up, narrows and eventually cracks along the bottom.

Homes from the growth years

Newer homes usually have PVC. It holds up well against roots and rust, but it depends on the ground around it. If the soil settles, a section can sink into a belly that holds water and waste. A joint can also pull apart or shift, which leaves a ledge that catches paper.

Whether you live near Original Aurora, Saddle Rock or Murphy Creek, the answer comes from the video, not the street name.

Repair or replace? How we decide (camera first)

A sewer camera inspection is $99. We record the line from the house to the main, note the distance to each problem and walk you through the footage. Here is how findings usually translate into a recommendation:

What the camera shows What we usually recommend
Light roots or grease, pipe intact Drain cleaning ($280) or hydro jetting (about $1,000)
One cracked or offset section, rest sound Spot repair, often with a new clean-out
A belly that holds standing water Dig and regrade that section, or replace if it is long
Cracks, roots or corrosion along much of the run Full sewer line replacement
Break at the city main Tap repair in the street or alley

The goal is to fix the problem once. A spot repair on a pipe that is failing everywhere just moves the next backup a few feet down the line. Learn more about our sewer line repair and replacement services.

Signs your Aurora sewer or water line is failing

Sewer lines rarely fail all at once. They give warnings first:

  • A sewer backing up into the shower or floor drain on the lowest level
  • Gurgling from a toilet when the washing machine drains
  • Clogs that return soon after drain cleaning
  • Sewage odor near the foundation or clean-out
  • A sunken or soggy spot along the path of the line

Water line trouble looks different. Watch for a sudden drop in pressure, a water bill that spikes without a change in use, or a patch of lawn that stays wet in dry weather.

Seeing any of these signs? A camera inspection shows the cause.

What sewer line work costs in Aurora

These are typical ranges from recent Go Direct jobs across the Denver metro. The ranges cover the middle half of jobs.

Job Typical range
Full exterior sewer line replacement $9,600–$17,750 (median $12,400)
Spot repair $4,560–$6,500 (median $5,199)
Interior or crawlspace sewer work $4,400–$9,265 (median $7,025)
Water line replacement $4,650–$10,500 (median $6,500)
Pipe bursting Varies with length; recent jobs $9,600 to $22,500

What moves the price

  • Length and depth of the line
  • What is on top of it: driveways, patios, trees and finished landscaping
  • Where the damage is: street and alley tap work often runs into five figures due to street cuts, traffic control and permits
  • Access: whether a clean-out exists or one needs to be installed

Your price depends on what the camera shows; every estimate is free and in writing. Our sewer line replacement cost guide goes deeper on each factor.

Trenchless pipe bursting in Aurora

Pipe bursting swaps out the old line from two small pits instead of a long trench. A bursting head travels through the existing pipe, splitting it apart, and pulls a new seamless pipe into the same path.

Because the new pipe follows the old route, bursting suits lines that run fairly straight and are in decent alignment. A deep belly or a fully collapsed section is often better handled with open digging. We do not do pipe lining, so we will give you a straight answer on dig versus burst. See how trenchless pipe bursting works.

Water line repair and replacement in Aurora

The water service line runs from the street to your house, and you usually cannot see it fail. In older homes it may be galvanized steel, which rusts from the inside and chokes off flow. Newer copper or plastic lines can still leak at fittings or where the ground has shifted.

If we cannot find the leak from above, we do exploratory leak excavation. If the line is old throughout, we will quote full replacement alongside the repair so you can compare. More on our water line services.

Warranties and financing

  • Full replacement: 20-year warranty
  • Trenchless pipe bursting: 10-year warranty
  • Spot repairs: 3–5-year warranty

Warranties are in writing and transfer to a new owner. To spread out the cost, qualifying jobs can use our in-house plan: 0% for up to 12 months, 20% down, no credit check, with autopay. Larger jobs can be financed through Wisetack, subject to credit approval. See our financing options or call 303-288-0039.

We also work across nearby Denver and Centennial.

Aurora sewer line repair FAQ

My home is only about 20 years old. Why would the sewer line fail?

Newer PVC lines can sag or shift at joints when the soil settles. Those spots trap waste and cause repeat clogs. A camera inspection shows whether that is the cause.

Is a belly in the line always a reason to replace it?

No. A short, shallow belly may only need monitoring or a regraded section. A long or deep belly that holds water usually needs repair.

Do you work in the street if the break is at the main?

Yes. We do tap repairs at the city main in the street or alley. That work involves street cuts and traffic control, so it costs more than yard work.

Who gets the permit?

We handle it. We confirm the right utility and permit for your address before work starts.

Can you replace my sewer and water lines at the same time?

Yes. We do full sewer and water line replacements. If the camera and a leak check show both are failing, we can quote them together.
