About Our Denver Service
Denver is the capital city and the hub of the metro area, and its aging infrastructure means sewer problems are common. Many older homes still have original clay sewer lines.
Neighborhoods We Serve
ZIP Codes Served
Denver is the largest city in Colorado and the hub of the metro area, and a lot of its homes were built long before plastic pipe. That is why sewer line repair in Denver so often starts with an old line that has simply worn out. Go Direct Services is a family-owned sewer and plumbing contractor based in Commerce City, and we handle sewer line replacement and water line repair across the city.
Every job starts the same way. We run a camera through the line before we quote anything, so you see what we see and the price is based on the pipe you actually have.
Sewer line repair in Denver: what we see most
Many older Denver neighborhoods date from before World War II. Homes from that era, and many built through the 1960s, often have clay or cast iron sewer lines. Both materials last a long time, but not forever.
Clay pipe and tree roots
Clay pipe comes in short sections with a joint every few feet. Each joint is a spot where roots can find water and push in. Over time they crack the pipe and catch everything going down the drain.
Cast iron under the basement
Cast iron corrodes from the inside. The bottom of the pipe thins and scales until it cracks or rots through, often under a basement slab. We repair and replace interior and crawlspace lines as well as the exterior run to the street.
Orangeburg and problems at the tap
Some postwar homes were plumbed with Orangeburg, a tar-paper pipe that flattens and blisters with age. We also see breaks right at the tap, where your line meets the city main in the street or alley. Tap work means cutting pavement, so it is a bigger job.
Who owns the sewer line? In many places the homeowner is responsible for the line from the house to the main. Rules vary, so we confirm the right utility and permit for your address before work starts.
Signs your Denver sewer or water line is failing
- Sewer backing up into a basement floor drain or the lowest toilet
- Gurgling toilets, or several slow drains at the same time
- A sewage smell in the basement or yard
- A soggy spot in the yard, or a stripe of grass greener than the rest
- Clogs that come back a few weeks after drain cleaning
- For the water line: low pressure, a water bill that jumps for no reason, or water pooling near the foundation
One clog is usually a drain problem. Repeat clogs, or several fixtures acting up at once, point to the main line.
Repair or replace? How we decide (camera first)
Our sewer camera inspection costs $99. We run a camera from a clean-out or other access point out to the main, record the video and mark where each problem sits.
Then the line usually lands in one of three places:
- Cleaning only. The pipe is intact and the trouble is roots or buildup. Drain cleaning is $280, and hydro jetting runs about $1,000.
- Spot repair. One section is broken and the rest is sound. We dig at that spot, replace the bad piece and often add a clean-out for easy access later.
- Full replacement. The pipe fails in several places, the material is past its life, or a sag holds standing water.
We will tell you plainly when a repair is just a patch on a pipe that will fail again soon. Paying for one section of a clay line that is cracked end to end rarely makes sense. You can read more about our sewer line repair and replacement services.

Trenchless pipe bursting in Denver
Trenching across a mature Denver lot can mean tearing out landscaping, walkways and sometimes part of a driveway. Pipe bursting replaces the line using two small pits instead. A bursting head is pulled through the old pipe, breaking it apart, while new seamless pipe follows right behind it.
It works well when the old line runs fairly straight under something you would rather not dig up. It is not right for every line, and sometimes open digging is simply the better value.
We do not do pipe lining. When a line cannot be burst, we dig and replace it. Here is how trenchless pipe bursting works, step by step.
Water line repair and replacement in Denver
Your water service line carries water from the street into the house. In older homes it may be galvanized steel, which rusts from the inside and narrows over time. Older copper can develop pinhole leaks.
Watch for low pressure, rusty water, a rising bill or a wet spot that never dries. When the source is hidden, we do exploratory leak excavation to find it. When the whole line is old, replacing it usually beats chasing one leak after another. Learn more about our water line repair and replacement.

Denver sewer line repair FAQ
Do you have to dig up my whole yard to replace a sewer line?
Not always. If the line is a good candidate for pipe bursting, we work from two small pits. If it is collapsed or badly out of line, we dig, and we tell you why before any work starts.
My Denver house is close to 100 years old. Should I scope the sewer before there is a problem?
It is a smart move, especially before buying or remodeling. A $99 camera inspection shows roots, cracks and sags early, while you still have time to plan.
Can you fix a cast iron line under my basement floor?
Yes. We repair and replace interior, basement and crawlspace sewer lines, including cast iron. The camera shows how much of the pipe is affected before we cut any concrete.
Who takes care of permits?
We do. Requirements depend on the address, so we confirm the right utility and permit for your address before work starts.
Why does tap repair cost so much more?
The tap sits at the city main under the street or alley. Reaching it means street cuts, traffic control and permits, which is why that work often runs into five figures.
Is my warranty still good if I sell the house?
Yes. Our sewer and water line warranties transfer to the new owner.
